The rim is edged in blue.

The border and body of the platter are decorated highly stylized leaves and blossoms.

The center is composed of flowers and these leaves and surrounded by a blue band.

This pattern was used by Spode, Worcester, and Minton, and a variant was made by Coalport.

The pattern appears to be derived from Worcester’s porcelain pattern known as “Royal Lily”, an “extensive assortment of which” which was reputedly sold to King George III and Queen Charlotte when they visited Worcester’s London shop in 1788. A description of this is found in Sandon, "The Dictionary of Worcester Porcelain Volume 1 1751-1851”.

Condition: In excellent condition consistent with age and usage.
